Put one iPhone near the person talking.
It becomes the microphone. Set it on the table, in a cup holder, or in their pocket. It can be their phone or a spare, with Huh? installed.
A noisy restaurant. A quiet voice. The other side of the room. Set one iPhone near the person talking, and their voice plays live on your iPhone, straight into your hearing aids, AirPods or earbuds.

Huh? turns two iPhones into a remote microphone. It streams live between the phones and saves nothing.

Both phones join the same Wi‑Fi, or one uses the other’s Personal Hotspot. Pair them with a six-digit code.
Your iPhone sends it over Bluetooth to whatever it already plays through: Bluetooth or Made-for-iPhone hearing aids, AirPods, or other earbuds.
No occasion needed. Just someone with something to say, and someone who wants to catch every word.

A story from the sofa. A question from the kitchen. Leave one phone near the person talking and keep listening wherever you settle.

Restaurants get loud. Set one phone by your dinner partner and hear them in your earbuds or hearing aids. Start somewhere quiet to get comfortable.

Road noise, and the driver’s eyes stay ahead. Put one phone in the cup holder by the driver and listen from any seat.

No Wi‑Fi out here? Turn on one phone’s Personal Hotspot and join it from the other. Keep both phones within range of each other.

No second phone? Set yours down near whoever is talking, at a talk, a meeting or across a room, and hear it in your own earbuds or headphones. No pairing, no network.
Sound only plays through your earbuds, headphones or hearing devices, never the phone’s speaker. Bluetooth reaches about 30 feet (10 m) in the open and less through people and walls, so sit near the front. For a bigger room, use two phones.
Hearing aids with Just this phone are still being tested. Try it and tell us how it works with yours.
Illustrations show everyday situations, not real testers. Sound and connection depend on your phones, audio device, surroundings and network. Try your own setup during the beta.

Anyone who finds it hard to follow a conversation because of background noise, distance, or a soft-spoken voice, and anyone who wants to help them. Huh? is not a medical device or a hearing aid.
Huh? plays through whatever your listening iPhone is already using for sound. That can include Bluetooth and Made-for-iPhone hearing aids, AirPods, and other earbuds or headphones. If your iPhone already streams music or calls to your hearing aids, that is a good sign. We cannot promise every model works, so the beta is the chance to try yours.
Two iPhones running iOS 17 or later, with Huh? installed through TestFlight on both, and a shared Wi‑Fi network or a Personal Hotspot. Connect your hearing aids, AirPods or earbuds to the listening iPhone before you start. With Just this phone (version 1.4), you need only one iPhone and your earbuds or headphones.
A one-phone mode coming in version 1.4. Your own iPhone’s microphone plays straight into your earbuds or headphones, for when you can sit near the person talking. It never plays through the phone’s speaker. Bluetooth reaches about 30 feet, so in a big room two phones still work best. Hearing device support for this mode is still being tested.
They need a shared local connection: your home Wi‑Fi, or one phone’s Personal Hotspot. Huh? does not connect phones in different places over the internet. Some public Wi‑Fi networks block connections between devices; a Personal Hotspot avoids that.
No. Huh? streams live audio between the two phones and does not save recordings. Let everyone nearby know when a phone is acting as a microphone. TestFlight has its own diagnostics and feedback. Read about privacy.
Yes. The listener can tap Pause, then Resume, without pairing again. The person with the microphone phone can tap Mute to stop sending sound. Tap Stop to end the session.
